Highpower Technology's R&D System is a comprehensive organization integrating forward-looking research, new material and process R&D, new platform R&D, cell and PACK product development, sample trial production and test verification, etc.

Highpower Technology invests more than 6% of annual sales revenue as R&D expenses.The R&D System pays close attention to the market demand and the industry's cutting-edge technology development dynamics, taking the application scenario as the starting point, focusing on the research of Li-ion battery, NiMH battery and its key material application in the direction of high safety, high energy density, fast charging, high and low temperature, and long cycle life, as well as the research on the application solutions of PACK and the research of new battery such as sodium-ion batteries, etc. At the same time, the R&D system is customer-centric and cooperates with leading brands in vertical markets to carry out product development.

More than 700 scientists and engineers

The R&D Institute of Highpower Technology employs more than 700 scientists and engineers in the fields of electrochemistry, materials science, physics, electronic technology, mechanical automation, software engineering, etc. This technical team and consultants are dedicated to continuous innovation while successfully securing more than 500+ patents. Such patent quantity is leading in the Chinese Battery Industry.

Industry-University-Research Cooperation

Highpower Technology works closely with local and international universities. We established the "Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base" recognized by the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Highpower has also established strategic relationships with Central South University, South China University of Technology, Southern University of Science and Technology and other institutes which focus on the new energy solutions and new material solutions, and experienced several exciting technology successes through the use of new materials. Such breakthroughs have been implemented into real-life battery applications.

Testing & Verification

The laboratories and test centers within the R&D Institute has been accredited by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). Our Test center is equipped with over 900 advanced test machines ranging from the machinces that defind chemical compounds, electrothermal analysis, reliability testing to safety testing. Meanwhile, the R&D center is managed by a group of scientiest with rich experience. These scientests enable the center to develop and analyze new techniques for the development of next generation batteries.
